My boyfriend got his daughter a bowling ball a 6 pound one because she on kids league now and she threw it and it hit the pins funny like a hollow sound. Then we go to get a refund and they said it was the ball return um no it's not never seen a ball split like that. So we gave the lady our name and number 2 days ago and has not called because she needed to talk to the bowling professional um you are selling defective balls obviously awful place I would never recommend someone to *** sporting goods.

A six pound ball would have a cork core.

Being so light they should not used by adults who bowl hard or fast.

As the ball return is at fault they would be liable for the ball being replaced or repaired.

Ball returns are capable of taking large chunks out of the ball.

I have had it happen to me twice.

Both times the centres repaired the balls without fuss. Hope you demanded the centre replace her ball. Their ball return, their responsibility!

Bait and Switch

I went to purchase a pair of running shoes on sale for $79 which is enough to pay. Some items are still on sale after Christmas.

They were in the back of the shoe in the shoe department and they were pink which was an undesirable color but a good brand and they were comfortable. When I got to the counter, they said they would cost over $100 and asked if I had a rewards card. I angrily asked the clerk if I needed a rewards card to receive the sale price. She then said no.

She said that the sale applied to a different version of the same item by the same company. The sign was right above these and they were all the same style in two colors. I know that the sign could not have applied to anything else, and if it did, it was deceptive. That store is always too expensive because they have a lot of overhead and well-heeled customers.

I don't like getting ripped off by those big impersonal sorts of places. If they are worried about the bad economy, they should treat people better than this.

They Compromises Your Info: You are now vulnerable to Identity Theft

12/12/12/ - I just bought a small caliber, bolt action rifle at ****s in Glen Burnie, Maryland. I was there last night, but they told me I had to wait till tonight to get the model I wanted.

But what I noted last night, as a gentleman was purchasing a hunting rifle, the guy behind the counter call the Fed line to do the instant background check and loudly repeated all the information on the form to the person on the phone. The person’s full name, social security number, address, place and date of birth. Everyone within 25 yards could hear all the personal information of this guy. So, if you are a personal identity thief, ****s Sporting Goods gun counter is a great place to gather everything you would want to know to steal someone’s identity.

Oh, and you know their home address so you can break in a steal a brand new gun! Guns are great for use in all sorts of other crimes, if I recall. Anyway, I go in tonight to get my 22 cal rifle and I do not put my social security number on the fed form , as it is not mandatory and I know they are about to announce everything on my form to everyone in the store. As the counter guy called the fed check line, a guy walks up to where he is and starts to fiddle with his cell phone, while it is on his hip.

I had no idea if he was recording all my personal info that the counter guy was repeating to the world. After he did this , I told him he just compromised all my personal info on the form. He said nothing, but the other guy behind the counter got that look on his face, that means trouble. As I was about to leave, he pulls out a store form that also want my address and e-mail, and my date of birth.

I asked, why is this store form asking me this and why do you need my date of birth. I was concerned that all my personal info would be used by the store or advertising, and selling to other advertisers. This is where the other *** h*** behind the counter jumps in and says I have to give them that or the store will not sell me the rifle. I asked where in company policy does it say I have to give this to the store and he said you just do, and that’s that.

I said that I have proven that I am over the age of 21 and that is all that the store should care about. The manager comes over and tells me it is required by the federal govt that the store have this store form filled out as well. I said I did not believe that and to please show me the company policy and/or fed regulation, and that I believed the store would use my info for advertising and for sale. He assured me that was not the case and, again, the store would not sell me the rifle if I did not place my birth date on the store form.

I just wanted to get the *** out of the store and put my BD on it. The manager than meets me at the check out counter and asks for my ID again. I give him my passport, but then he says he has to have my driver’s license. Then he has the girl at the register enter all my personal info into the store computer.

I was livid, and than he assures me it will not be sold to advertisers or used by them for advertising. I believe that is B*** *** I learned the store lives up to its name.

So if you want to have all your personal information compromised and deal with a pack of D***s, this is the place for you. Now I will have to watch my credit cards and other financial records like a hawk to make sure I am not a victim of Identity Theft, thanks to you D***s at ****s.

Seriously... You are a ***, and should definitely not own a firearm.

Of course you have to provide "personal" information to buy a gun. Are you kidding me?

From your review alone it sounds like you were going out of your way to be a ***, and giving every employee a hard time.

If you don't like the policy of a store, guess what? YOU CAN LEAVE.

Marlowe Rzo

I think the customer's point was that the information shouldn;t be read aloud and personal info divulged within earshot of other customers...I deal with ID theft issues almost weekly. What once was the exception to the rule, has now become the norm.Of course, shotty customer service seems to be the norm at *** in reading many of the complaints.

Guest

I own a tin foil company if you'd like to buy some for anti government mind reading helmets. ,)

Guest

It's the law for us to check your ID at the checkout, even after you have shown your information to the lodge associate. Not only our store policy.

We are doing our jobs. Even though he deff shouldn't have spoken so loudly, so other customers could hear. But im sure your just over exaggerating. And we do not sell any of your information.

Everything is confidential. We deal with so many ignorant customers all day, we can usually tell from the jump what customer is going to go out of their way to try and push us down. But we also have our customers that love our store and our associates. Those are the ones being realistic.

I love my job. Everyone has their bad days.

Guest

looks like someone needs to relax. 4473's have to be locked up after they are done up front.

If you don't want to fill one out.

If you don't want to fill out the forms necessary to buy a gun, don't bother buying one.

***'s Sporting Goods Gun Sale

I purchased a Franchi Over/Under 12 Ga. Shotgun from ***'s in Cedar Rapids, Ia.

I did not take the gun out of the box until I arrived home. Upon reviewing the gun I discovered several scracthes in the wood. I called the store and they said all gun sales are final. I called ***'s corporate customer service and they repeated that disclaimer.

They did suggest that I check with the manufacturer, Franchi. Upon doing so I discovered that the gun had been sold and registered to someone else. Franchi asked that I send the gun back to them and they replaced it with a new one. ***'s sold me a used gun at a new price and refused to do anything about it.

I think this is against the law but did not want the hassle of getting a lawywer involved.

You are correct in that it was Benelli USA that I dealt with. I looked it up on my packing slip that was with the replacement that they sent me.

They, unlike ***'s, were very helpful.

You can believe what You want, but the lady that I spoke with at Benelli told me the gun had a history and to return it at once.

The real point is that ***'s would do nothing about a scratched up used gun that they represented to be new.

Guest

I think you are full of ****. First off you would be dealing with benelli because they are the ones that import franchi.

Secondly, they wouldn't have the information that the gun you received was registered to someone else. That information would be on the 4473 kept at the store level and/or pos atf office via your local state police barracks.

..... know what you are talking about before running your mouth.

Received dirty, sweaty running shoes...

I ordered a pair of running shoes from ***'s online store. When I received them they were dirty had clearly been used.

I contacted the customer service department and was told I would be shipped a new pair of shoes. I did not need to return the ones I had received.

A week later I still had not received the promised confirmation email or the new pair of shoes.

When I contacted customer service again I was told I now needed to return the old pair (which I had thrown away). When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told it would take 24-48 hours for them to call me back.

WTF *** What's your problem now??

Paid for a troy carbine the wednesday before black friday, DSG staff and management repeatedly lied and said the rifle was being built and would arrive for delivery. Over a month goes by and they send a refund on Christmas...

eve, thanks for ruining the holidays. The rifle has tripled in price since I paid, and is not available for purchase since DSG was the sole distributor. A company changing their stance and deciding to stop carrying a product in the future is fine.

Cancelling orders paid for by customers over a month ago when DSG did carry the product is BREACH OF CONTRACT. Will never shop at DSG again, worst shopping experience ever

CANCER CAUSING CHEMICALS/YOGA MAT

I bought a "Thrive" yoga mat. Only when I got home did I thoroughly read my receipt and found this warning: "You have purchased an item that contains a chemical known to the state of CA to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm." Naturally I returned the mat and spoke to a manager, who was unconcerned about my complaint.

I will never shop at ***'s again since they have so little regard for their customers' health and safety.

I would like to pursue this matter further but don't know what steps to take. I emailed the manufacturer and received no response.

Horrible Customer Service!

I visited the *** store in hamburg pavilion on 1/23/13 to return a Hoodie I got for Christmas because the Nike symbol was peeling off. There was not another one to exchange it with, and even though it was paid for with a credit card it 'had to be store credit' I said ok, because I was sure I would end up using it.

I went and looked at the shoes. Nike AirMax 2013 and there were only two colors, white and red. And none in my size except white. I asked the girl working and she said that's all they hadn't gotten so far.

So I left with nothing but a store credit. So I called the other store at fayette mall to see if they had any in my size. The girl that picked up the phone acted like I was an *** when I asked for someone in shoes. And I waited roughly 5-7 on hold with no answer.

So I went ahead and made the 25-30 minute drive to the other side of the city to the other store. When I get there the man working was very nice- but explained to me that that store hadn't even received the shoes in mens yet and was unaware of when they would.

Needless to say I'm not very happy with the service, and after my store credit is used, I'll just be going to footlocker and online for everything instead. Because I will not be doing this again.

Don't expect any service on special orders

Ordered a gun safe on Dec 21st. The salesperson, Curtis told me they were in stock at their distribution center, I bought it. He told me it would be in by Jan 15th. Well guess what, no safe, now I am being told they are all backordered. Just go somewhere else, this company consists of a bunch of idiots. They clearly do not know what they are doing or what they are selling. When I called the store, they just "don't know" what happened and of course the salesperson cannot be contacted. Perfect. Well, we will go elsewhere in the future.

Go elsewhere you're out of luck!!!!

I went in a few to ***'s to get purchase some clothing. After, browsing and not finding my size, I went to an aassociate.

I asked the associate if they were able to call a store in Washington D.C. to ask for the item and have it shipped to Raleigh. The associate was telling me that they didnt do that. The manager/supervisor came in mid-conversation and asked me what was going on.

I explained to her that I was looking for an item and saw it on-line but they didnt have my size. I asked if they were able to call the D.C. stores and see if it could be shipped to Raleigh. I was told that ***'s doesnt ship store to store and if the website didnt have it that I could go to Champs or Footlocker.

I said, "So I guess I'm out of luck." The managers reply was "pretty much!"

All of this in front of my 7 yr.

old son. So , here I am with no merchandise and a gift card that I refuse to spend in this store.

Shocked consumer, no warranty crossbow

15 minutes ago I visited ***'s here in Raleigh, NC triangle town center off capital Blvd with the full intent to drop a $1000 on a new crossbow and accessories. I had been their and looked them over last week and wanted to take advantage of a sale they are having. The crossbow I planned to have in my hand by now on display was missing the crank handle and the cocking lever was jammed off center to the left, so I asked an employee if I could purchase one in the box.

He went to ask the manager and the managers reply was yes he could but it would void the warranty. So I sent him back with the question what if I let his people put it together and set it up while I'm here? He returns and tells me the manager said that's his last one and he can't do it.

So needless to say I am now sitting in the parking lot a couple miles up the road so I can make my purchase here at a local gun shop, and I'm willing to bet they will sell me one in the box.

I prefer to assemble such a large purchase myself, after all I am the one that has invested the Cash not the employees behind the counter so believe me I will be building it right the first time. Funny thing is you can order the crossbow from their website still in the box with a full warranty intact.

***'s-east York, PA

I just came back home following a very unpleasant experience at the East York Pennsylvania ***'s store. There were shirts on a rack below a sign with bold type that said $24.99.

I picked up one and went to the cash register to pay. The cashier told me $34.99. I told him that "no, they are on sale for $10 less". The employee beside him told me that "that's only on certain colors".

I asked to see the manager and Joe the manager on duty, and I went over to the rack. He said "no, you see, the sign says shorts, not shirts" in tiny type below the bold $24.99. Then he said "this time of year people put items where they don't belong." I replied, "that can't be the case because the entire rack consists of shirts not shorts and clearly the sign is not placed correctly." At this point, when clearly there are was no line of defense against the *** he had just handed me he became incredibly belligerent and downright nasty. I can honestly say, in all my years of shopping, never have I run into a store manager so completely lacking in any sensibility or training of how to handle a problem!

Yes, I should have read the small type, but what kind of store designs the signage requiring you to be a lawyer to purchase from them? My point I tried to make to Joe, the pseudo-manager, was that the sign needs to be correctly placed over the item that is on sale. As I said, by this point Joe, who should be intelligent enough, sensible enough, and well-trained enough to know that a manager's job is to address the problem with the customer and attempt to resolve it, did exactly the opposite. He was combative, irate, and totally and completely unwilling to discuss it.

So what am I going to do?

Post this information wherever I can and warn consumers to be aware that ***'s uses very deceptive marketing within their stores and worst of all, apparently gives no professional training to the people that they put in charge! Then, never shop there again and close my credit account.

Bike Fell apart after 20 minutes of use

I Just Bought a Nishiki 2010-**** Black bike at *** Sporting Goods at Fiesta Mall. The bike costed $220 before taxes.

First there was not a bike specialist on site, apparently he was hiding in the back, No price was on the bike. So after about a 30 minute wait the bike specialist "inspected the bike".

That day I took it to School (Mesa Community College) approximately 10-15 minutes away and the handle bars at the front became so loose that they started spinning and was wobbly and started separating from the bike. I expect better service and better products for that money!

You can really only expect to get a *** bike for $220, and if you can't tell and appreciate the difference between a $220 and $500 dollar bike (and I'm assuming you can't because you said 'costed') then you really only deserve a *** bike. not inspecting the bike.. their bad.

Do not stand behind the products they sell

Is it too much to ask a company to stand behind the products they sell? We bought 2 pair of shoes from them. 5 months after occasional light use (weekend only,no stressful excersise) they are tearing and cracking. *** hides behind a 90 day return policy. If your expensive shoes show their defects after 90days; too bad.

I work for a luxury automotive giant and we do not treat our customers like this.

We appreciate their business and take care of them. Even if a warranty is over, we try to help them. There is no excuse a large company can give that excuses poor product. Large companies need to be held accountable for what they sell and the service they give.

Should the company that sells the product be held responsible or the company making the item. For one the store doesn't actually know how often you used them and the 90 day return policy is actually pretty generous considering many other stores.

And while I don't really like ***'s Sporting goods as a whole your issue is with the manufacturer not the middle man who sold it to you. And as alway buyer beware.
