Worst customer experience ever had

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was shopping at the Dick's Sporting Goods in the Dayton Mall over the weekend. It is my son's first year playing football and we went out to get all of his stuff.

I purchased his cleats a football a pair of socks a cap a pair of football gloves a water bottle among other things. The next day I am getting the bags ready for my son to go to football and realize the gloves are not in there. I call the store and let them know that one of the items I purchased was not there. I was told by management that they would review the tapes and give me a call back to let me know if my statement was true.

I have worked in retail management almost 20 years, I have never even thought about telling a customer that I would review the tapes because I do not believe them when they did not receive an item. When a customer takes time out of their day to call about something that was left there, the customer should be apologized to for the mistake that the store has caused. They should apologize for the fact that that customer has to come back up to the store to receive their merchandise . There should be no mention of having to review a security tape to see if the customer is lying.

I felt like they were telling me I was lying and trying to steal from this company. If this was only a five or $10 item I would just go buy another one but these were a $25 pair of football gloves. I have never had a worst customer experience in my life. I will be sure to tell every person I encounter and everybody in the entire School District to not go to Dick's for their sporting needs.

I will definitely not be returning for the next 8 years that my son is in School playing sports. This shows that this company does not value their customers or their experiences with in the store. The way to build a company and create a positive Revenue over last year's is by building customer relations. When you have a bad experience in a store you tell everyone, when you have a good experience in the store you might tell a few people.

It looks like the majority of the stores reviews are definitely not satisfactory. *** sporting goods.

Will not pay rewards

I have a score card. I expressed my displeasure with the new fire arm policy. Dick’s got their start in Binghamton NY from hunters and fishermen. Now they are rich and have totally abandoned the the way of life and the customers who that got them where they are today. After I told them that they stopped giving me rewards dollars for the money we spent there. Seriously they just stopped. They said I was free to shop elsewhere. Wow!!! They sell medium quality overpriced stuff anyway.

I applied *** Reward credit card to receive the "gold reward membership" so that I can enjoy free golf grips replacement and other benefits. Received my credit card in March but never receive the gold reward card.

The store won't honor the free service unless I have the gold reward card. I have been in touch with their customer service team for months now and they keep saying they will be sending me the card weeks after weeks.. and never receive it. Finally someone said I will receive by 8/22/18 and in the mean time, they will send me a store gift card to cover the golf re-grips fees..

Last I heard from them was 7/31 and I've been follow up and the customer service just keep ignoring me!!!

I would not have apply for their "reward" card if it's not because of the FREE services they promise and I did my end of the bargain.. yet *** didn't seem to care on their end.

After what Dick's Sporting Goods has done in the past few years regarding arbitrarily cancelling firearms orders and now their current campaign of denigration of firearms I wonder why anyone would continue to shop there. Best to avoid them at all cost and shop at other places like Cabella's, Dunhams, etc.

Stay out of politics

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Are you people insane??? You are punishing hard working Americans over a mental health issue.

*** Smith is probably rolling over in his grave. Guns don’t kill people, PEOPLE kill people. Are you going to destroy all your knives too? MORE people are killed by knives than guns every year.

How about baseball bats? Axes? Are you going to not sell rope? ALL these things are used to kill people.

Cars are the BIGGEST killer EVER, should we not drive? Your line of reasoning is flawed and if it is not changed I will never set foot in your stores again. You’re a SPORTING GOODS STORE - stay out of politics and stick to what you know. Don’t punish millions for the acts of a few.

It’s not the cars, knives, bats or guns. It’s the PEOPLE.

And doing what you’re doing does nothing to help solve the mental health problem in this country. A better response would be to donate the profits from the sales of firearms, ammo and such to an organization that helps the mentally ill.

I'm impressed with the way gas stations sell alcohol and firemaking devices as well as gasoline ... all they are missing is a nice selection of ammunition for total hypocrisy.

It looks funny on the post here how the blanked out Mr. Smith's first name with asterisks because it resembles a well used pejorative ...

Formerly loyal customers will NEVER shop at Dick's again because of CEO Ed Stack anti-2nd Amendment views

Today, CEO Ed Stack of Dick's Sporting Goods will no longer sell any semi-automatic weapons in any of its stores (despite fact that 97% of U.S. gun shootings are by handguns) and then ignorantly uses the left's description of these single-shot weapons as "assault weapons". What a virtue signaling and cowardly decision.

It's Dick's decision to keep a simpleton like Stack on as CEO, but our family will NEVER shop at another Dick's again because of this decision.

Like Target infuriating a large segment of their customers by allowing {{Redacted}}claiming that this is because Target is so virtuous, Dick's can expect to suffer the same fate of rapidly declining sales revenue.

I will never do business at Dick's Sporting goods again. It's they're choice what not to sell and it's mine to go somewhere else. Good luck with that business plan.

For the unwavering supporters of the 2nd amendment just look at what the amendment says...A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. If you feel this means that any citizen of the United States should be able to own any gun they desire do you also believe that a 5 year old should be able to own a gun, how about a United States citizen that supports ISIS, is a convicted felon, how about a senior with alzheimer's disease that can't recognize their family or know where they live, the kid down the street that shoots neighbors pets for fun....the list goes on and on.

Yes, they are all citizens. There are just certain people that shouldn't have a gun at all and there are classes of guns that don't belong in the hands of civilians either.

Think about it. Do certain limitations make common sense?

There you go blowing your argument out of per portion. No one is saying that those who are, mentally unstable, convicted felons, or toddlers should have guns.

Please stop blaming an inanimate object on the actions of a person, A MURDERER. Which by the way slipped through, local, state and federal agencies. It's not the gun, it's societies lack of respect for humanity.I'm okay with changing the age to 21. If the argument is that 18 is too young to purchase a long arm we should do the same with driving.

There are more deaths and injuries caused each year by young inexperienced divers in this country than guns. I'm sure you're fine allowing 17 year olds to join the military, FYI they learn to use firearms efficiently there, don't they?As for military assault style weapons?, AR15s are NOT. You judge on appearance, not function. They work no differently than a semi-auto 742 Remington DEER rifle.

Change the stock to a wooden one and most people unfamiliar with firearms wouldn't recognize it as an AR platform. As for your thoughts on the second amendment look up the word INFRINGED.

Because the people owned their firearms and had them with them they would constitute the state militia, not the other way around. Quit taking it out on the 99% of law abiding gun owners. And to quote Ben Franklin “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

I will NEVER enter a Dick'a store again. Our 2nd Amendment Rights are under attack all over.

I do not need to spend money supporting one of the attackers. Too bad to.

I loved Dick's. I shall miss it.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1440076

How are they attacking your 2nd amendment rights? They are still selling pistols, shotguns and standard rifles.

The just quit selling the high capacity guns originally designed for military use to kill people. I'd be willing to bet that if the founding fathers had ever dreamed of guns with modern capacity that the 2nd amendment would have been written differently.

Guest

For all those who feel that semiautomatic guns with high capacity magazines have no place in the civilian world Dick's has done a great thing. If you haven't shopped there in the past go to Dick's and support them with a purchase for doing something your congressman or senator hasn't had the courage to do. Great job Dick's.

I will never do business with these despicable people again. Dick's are just grand standing to boost their sales. They don't care about our rights as Americans and we should not support them with our money. Work with youth so should be able to steer some money away from these leftist.

3 cheers for *** and their new policy on AR rifles. I'm all for people being able to buy shotguns and rifles for hunting and even handguns for protection of their home.

Let's face it AR rifles and their high capacity magazines are meant for only one purpose, killing people. They are military style weapons that there is no reason for a civilian to have. There are other military type guns that are not allowed and this should be one as well. Yes, handguns are use more often and kill more people overall but the AR rifles are used for mass killings that a hand gun will never accomplish.

As far as hand guns, shotguns and rifles are concerned perhaps there should be more regulation in their sale and ownership.

As other countries do maybe we should require gun training before you purchase a gun and well as background checks. Americans are ok with the idea of being trained and passing tests to be licensed to drive a car, why not to own a gun?

I agree with you totally. There is absoluely no legitimate use for semi automatic weapons ownership by civilians.

Can't believe how insensitive the writer is complaining that Dick's won't sell his semi auto weapons. Doesn't he remember Parkland mass shooting recently.

How dare he be bent out of shape over the stores' refusal to sell his weapons. He really makes me angry.

Coupon Misrepresentation

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was a member of Dick's sports card rewards program, where they send you coupons and discounts for being a good customer. They sent a flyer with coupons, one particular coupon offered 20% off any golf accessory, excluding clearance items.

I went to order a new putter, only to discover that in the fine print, on their website, these items aren't eligible for coupons and discounts. What a rip-off. I contacted Dick's customer service, and was told this fact. I would have to pay the full price.

After a little research, i discovered that this is the same price that i could buy this putter direct from the factory, eliminating the middle man and thier BS. So, i contacted Dick's, cancelled my scorecard account, had my name removed from their mailing list, and I will never shop there again.

Felt good!

A Putter is not a golf accessory. Its a core product which is a exclusion.

Accessories are tees and golf gloves and so forth. Very poor review when you don't pay attention to the coupon and leave a terrible review based off of your mistake.

New state, same result

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Went to the store in Gilbert, AZ today hoping service would be different from my home state. WRONG!

Walked around for 45 mins. Almost had employees bump in to me they were so close and none of them said anything to me, not a word. Finally about 5 mins before I was going to leave a woman putting up fishing said “hello” to me. I thanked her for acknowledging me.

In addition to horrible service, I noticed many merchandising problems, the biggest of which was missing prices all over the store. On the ammo shelves about 1/8 of the products were priced. Just sad.

Thought about getting a job there. Not now.

I don't have a Dick's nearby, but I stop by every chance I have when I head into the city. So I end up shopping online there quite a bit.

As always, a great selection and even though their prices are higher they're still the best out there when it comes to quality running gear! What I really like is that they have everything I need already in stock. Many of the other outlets and retailers say they have it in stock, but add a few days for shipping-for some reason. I'm thinking that they are getting it from other sources.

Dick's always seems to ship faster which tells me that they have it in the store itself.

Something I have found to be the case while there. If you can make it to the store, it's a better shipping experience, but their online store is great too!!

Ordered a few things online for $108, all that cleared with no problems. 2 days later *** takes out another $72, without telling us.

Was told its an authorization hold from the operator there. Talked to the manager and he says its our banks fault. We had already talked to the bank that morning to cancel our cards, we thought we had been hacked! Anyway, manager tells us we are lucky our item shipped so quickly.

Hardware Kit missing parts for Punching Bag stand assembly

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Hardware kit was ripped open. Some bolts and washers were missing.

On 12-23 I called customer service (Missy) and they said they would have a new hardware kit sent to me. On 12-28 I called back and customer service told me no action had been taken. They told me to hold the line 2-3 min while they escalated the issue. After 20 min they said they were on hold waiting to escalate.

I asked if they could just take my information and proceed but they told me I had to stay on the line. After 40 min and no response I hung up!

I can't assemble the stand without the kit. They have no concept of customer service.!
